Welcome

Welcome to the Green and Sustainable Small Business class for City College of San Francisco (SMBU 9476).

What:
Course Description
An exploration of the major types of green certifications and the process of achieving them, as well as the obstacles and opportunities small businesses face in implementing and maintaining sustainable practices that are economically, ecologically and socially sound. 

When:
Thursday nights 6-9 pm, at the Downtown Campus:   88 4th St, San Francisco, CA. 
Fall 2014 Session is 6 weeks:  10/2 - 11/6

Open to any and all students enrolled at CCSF.  If you are not currently enrolled, please see me or the admissions department.

Instructor
Stephanie Chenard is a Sustainable Business and Educational Consultant who works with various businesses and educational institutions implementing sustainable solutions and programs.  She obtained her Bachelors of Arts in both English Literature and Philosophy from Mills College and then continued to work for several years in the business and legal arenas before completing a Masters of Business Administration in Sustainable Management from the Presidio Graduate School.  Stephanie has written curriculum and taught at several learning institutions such as City College of San Francisco, Heald College, Casa Loma College, U.C. Berkeley Extension and Presidio Graduate School.  When she’s not teaching or consulting, Stephanie is busy being active in social causes around improving food systems as well as local AIDS organizations.  She frequently spends her weekends doing long bicycle rides around the Bay Area, or cooking inventive meals for family and friends.
